FLY IT YOURSELF, OVER THE NORTH SHORE
A few minutes along the airfield from our dropzone, our neighbors at GoSky Hawaii fly an open-cockpit powered hang glider — a "trike" — over the ocean, the reef and the mountains of Oahu's North Shore. Every flight is an informal introductory flight lesson: you sit behind your instructor with nothing in front of you but the view, you chat the whole way on high-fidelity headsets, and your instructor hands you the controls whenever you're ready — if you want them. Plenty of flyers prefer to sit back and be flown, and they get exactly the same flight.
It's the perfect other half of a skydiving day — and the perfect option for anyone in your group who isn't jumping.
Open-air cockpit
Unobstructed views, with a helmet and clear visor that keep the wind off your face. Gentler and quieter than most people expect.
The best seat
Your instructor flies from the front; you sit behind, in the seat with the best visibility on the aircraft.
FAA certified instructors
Sport Pilot flight instructors with a full set of controls at all times — you're never alone with the aircraft, which is exactly why you're able to fly it.
25,000+ first flights
Flying from Dillingham since 2003 with a perfect safety record. No experience, no fitness requirement and no nerve required.
Not a passenger seat. A lesson — and the best view on the island.
The trike cruises at about 70 mph and is steered with a simple control bar: push and pull to turn, climb and descend. Your instructor is a friendly guide rather than a teacher — ask anything on the headsets, or say nothing at all and just look.
Flights start low over the island, then climb for the wide view. If you'd like your flight to count towards a Sport Pilot licence, tell your instructor on the day and they'll log it — around 15 hours with an instructor and you're flying solo. Or it's a one-off. Both are perfect days out.
Three flights
Same aircraft, same instructor. What changes is how much of the experience you get.
Classic
$199
20 minutes
A proper taste of it — usually low and immediate, skimming the coast and the beaches. The most affordable way in, and a complete first flight.
Highlights
$279
30 minutes
Time to settle in and take the bar yourself, with room to climb for the panoramic island view without giving up the low passes. The most popular flight.
Ultimate
$599
60 minutes · photos & video included
Everything they can do — low passes, the high panoramic leg, further afield, and the most time on the controls. The one flyers call life-changing.
Photos & video: $138 as an add-on to the Classic or Highlights — two separate cameras, tack-sharp stills and 4K video of the whole flight, emailed the same day. Already included with the Ultimate. Current prices always at gosky-hawaii.com/pricing.
